The first Annual Samskrit Book Award Presentation ceremony was organised by the Karnataka Samskrit University on 10th of March, 2012, in Rajbhavan. The Governor of Karnataka, Hon. Dr. Hans Raj Bharadwaj felicitated the awardees. Eminent Kannada scholar, Prof. G Venkatasubbaiah was also present on the occasion. The ceremony was presided by the Vice-chancellor of Karnataka Samskrit University, Prov. mallepuram G Venkatesha.
Six scholars were honoured on the occasion with the award certificate and a cash award of ten thousand rupees.
